This is one of my favorite camping trips ever!!!!
It was 2 days before we left, we still had no camp site, everyone who was going to go backed out, just when the trip looked like it wasn’t going to happen, boom an unexpected camp site opening at Leo Carillo popped up. Like the troopers that they are, Sam and marley were ready to go, packed up the Element and we were on our way. It just so happened that the surf was head high, and the weather was 90 degrees. It couldn’t have worked out perfect. After several hours of surfing perfect waves, a couple afternoon naps, a bunch of beer and wine coolers, 2 delicious dinners of the same thing, various cards games, several failed fire attempts, numerous ridiculous jokes, loud singalongs, this became one of my favorite camping adventures I have ever bene on…Hopefully the next one is not far behind…

The element has been everything i hoped it would. It’s the camping machine. Everything you need in one car. Our camp site was sick too, we got super lucky…
It didn’t take marley very long to get into the spirit of camping….
Sam Zoncked out in the middle of the day, enjoying the possibility of an afternoon nap, something that has become sort of a myth in every day life. We were talking about the good old days in college were afternooons were like drinking beer, it happened everyday!

This is how you eat dinner while Camping. I don’t usually spend the extra money to get something nice, it’s quite the opposite, I usually buy the cheapest one possible, in the case of buying a camping stove, this time I actually splurged the extra 30 dollars and bought a high quality stove! Coleman is now part of the family, the stove kicks ass. We busted out some Turkey Kabasa, Mac n Cheese, and a toasted bun for dinner. Add in a fancy 8 dollar salad from costco that lasted for every meal of the trip and you have your self a camping dinner. Feast your eyes on this complete meal…
Ahh….You would think in this picture i’m happy, because of the ice cold beer in my hand or is it that i’m camping wih my favorite people, or is it cuz i just scored perfect head high surf, or is it just being outside in the fresh air? If you guessed any of those, your wrong, or atleast half wrong, I have a HUGE smile on my face due to the newly purchased stove! COLEMAN…
So there wasn’t really a contest going on, but since I’m ultra competitive, i developed a best photo of the weekend contest, and since i created the contest, judged the contest, and participated in the contest, well I also WON the contest.
